FAQs

What basic consumables are supplied?

Tea, instant coffee, sugar, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher powder and toilet paper are supplied at all HeadSouth holiday homes.

Is linen and bedding supplied?

Yes, all HeadSouth holiday homes are equipped with linen that is professionally cleaned and changed by our cleaners. This includes duvets, pillows, sheets, bath towels, face cloths, pillow slips and tea towels. Guests are charged a small fee per guest for the duration of the stay to cover all linen costs.

Are the holiday homes serviced daily?

HeadSouth holiday homes are cleaned and maintained to a professional, hotel grade standard however these are private homes and not a hotel or serviced apartment. The holiday home's compendium outlines details of the property and information about Queenstown; however HeadSouth does not provide a daily cleaning service or concierge service.

Will the holiday home be professionally cleaned?

Yes, all our properties are professionally cleaned once guests have departed. A mid-stay clean can be arranged for a small additional charge.

Can I smoke in the home?

A strict non smoking environment applies throughout the entire interior of all HeadSouth holiday homes. Guests are welcome to smoke outside but no butts, matches or other litter may be discarded.

Does the holiday home have WiFi?

Yes, some of our holiday homes operate a WiFi system. Please check on the individual listing.

What happens if I have to cancel my booking?

HeadSouth reserve the right to assess cancellations on a case by case basis. Reservations are accepted in good faith however in the event of a cancellation the following refund criteria apply: Deposits are non refundable. Cancellations that occur within 30 days of the arrival date will incur the total accommodation cost.

Where do I pick up the keys?

Keys are located in a lock box on the property. You will be emailed instructions on how to access the lock box once balance paid in full. Check in time is from 2pm on the afternoon of your arrival. Check out is 10am on the day of your departure.

Are extra keys available?

Unfortunately, additional keys are not available. If guests lose a key they will be charged a NZD$15 fee.

Can I arrange a late check-out?

Checkout is 10am. We need to have access to the property to allow our cleaners to ready for the next guests. If bookings allow, a late check out at 12pm may be possible. Please ask if this is required.

Can I extend my stay?

We will always try to accommodate extensions to your stay, depending on availability of the property. Please contact us to discuss possible options.

Is there a cot or highchair available?

Yes, a portable cot (including linen) and highchair can be supplied for infants for NZD$15 each item. Other infant items (Including safety plugs) are available on request so please ask when making your reservation.

Can I make a secure online payment?

Our website is secure for your online credit card payments - Visa & Mastercard.

What happens in an emergency?

HeadSouth operates an after-hours emergency number for guests (Ph. 021 888 552). An emergency constitutes a threat to safety and/or to the property, such as a fire, plumbing or electrical fault. If there is an issue with a non-urgent appliance for example, we ask that you wait until business hours and then contact us to have the problem remedied. Requesting emergency services - dial 111: to request an ambulance, fire engine or the police.

Is there a supermarket/grocery store nearby?

Queenstown has a comprehensive supermarket (New World Supermarket) and shopping precinct in the Remarkables Park shopping area in Frankton, located 10 minutes from downtown Queenstown near the airport.  Buses run here regularly. 

There is a small supermarket (Alpine Supermarket) located in the centre of downtown Queenstown, and a five minute walk from here will bring you to another supermarket (Fresh Choice Supermarket) and a gourmet supermarket/delicatessen (Mediterranean Market).

Does Queenstown have a hospital?

Yes, Queenstown Hospital is located in Frankton, near the airport. There is also a 24/7 medical centre (Queenstown Medical Centre) located in the centre of Queenstown, next to the fire station. In emergencies, dial 111 to request an ambulance.

How far from town is the holiday home?

Queenstown resort is a compact small town, and many of our holiday homes are within walking distance of downtown. There is a good bus service available for most surrounding areas, and pick-up arrangements can usually be made for tours and trips.

Does Queenstown have public transport?

Yes, the Connectabus service provides bus transport all around Queenstown and Arrowtown. Connectabus also operate the red double-decker bus scenic tour. Read all about their bus services at www.connectabus.com or www.doubledeckerbus.co.nz.
